Why?

Most indie filmmakers assume name actors are out of reach. Too expensive, too connected, too far removed from a $10K production shooting in someone's apartment.

But that's backwards. A lot of recognizable actors are actively looking for projects like yours – small, scrappy, character-driven work where they get to do something their agents would never send them. The challenge is that most filmmakers don't know how to approach them professionally, and one bad email to the wrong person burns the bridge before it starts.

I've watched filmmaker friends lose name-level cast because they didn't understand how SAG tiers work, or because they made a handshake deal without understanding what "favored nations" actually means, or because they showed up to set with a 12-person crew and no plan for making a recognizable face feel like they made the right call.

We're going to make sure that doesn't happen to you.
